Before you submit your story and photograph, please read and agree to the following release. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must agree to the terms of this agreement on your behalf.

1. By submitting your photograph for publication you own all the rights, including copyright, necessary to submit this photograph, story, and/or audio to the Memorial Tattoos project. You further warrant and represent that your photograph is not obscene, defamatory or in breach of any applicable legislation or regulations.

2. Photographs are selected for publication at the sole discretion of the Memorial Tattoos team. There will be no payment for publication.

3. By submitting a photograph you: a) give us permission to publish it on the Memorial Tattoos website, our social media accounts, on promotional material, in presentations, and in scholarly publications, this year and in future years b) grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to republish it in any format including without limitation in print and electronic formats; and c) you give us permission to use your provided public username and city and/or neighbourhood of residence for the purpose of identifying you as the author of your tattoo story.

4. We may cut, edit, crop or arrange your photograph(s) or graphic as we think fit to appear in print and online, and we may remove your photograph(s) or graphics at any time. A public username of your choosing will be published alongside your photograph(s) or graphic, but we may edit or delete any text or audio which you submit along with your photograph(s) or graphic.

5. You retain ownership of the copyright in your photograph, audio, and story as its author and you are free to republish it wherever you wish and in whatever medium you want.

6. You consent to indemnify the Memorial Tattoo team against any claim, demand, action, suit, or other proceedings against us arising out of the use of the photograph and related to any false or inaccurate statement.

7. In these terms and conditions "we" and "us" mean the Memorial Tattoo team.
